Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Guna Builders allocates a portion of its profits for a number of social causes. They run Parivu Trust for this purpose. Parivu sponsors needy students with tuition fees, stationery and more. Tens of hundreds of students have benefitted from the social stand that Parivu has taken.
Starting from 2011, Parivu will honour and present one Tamil writer with reward money and an award. Parivu is all about goodness and has little to do with business.
About Parivu charitable trust ( www.parivu.org )
Parivu refers to kindness shown towards others. Our kindness is focused rightly for the ones who are in dire need of attention and care. The elders abandoned by their family, children who were orphaned and those left alone by the society, parents and relatives.
We establish foster homes for these elders and children, offer food, clothes and health care facilities, more than that we furnish security and peace in their lives. We teach children, build them with life skills to make them responsible and productive citizens.
We believe in all humans are equal and we don’t discriminate people based on age, sex, caste or religion. We are more than happy to extend our arms to help whoever is in need. India is one of the most illiterate nations in the world. We educate not only children through schools but also adult by evening classes.
Poverty is becoming hereditary in India, for a sizeable population. 42% of population below international poverty line of US$1.25 per day, 1994-2008* .There are 11 million abandoned children in India, who face a bleak future as beggars or menial labors and only 4,000 are adopted annually. Close to 13.5 million underprivileged children in India are out of school and into child labor in order to earn a single meal in a day. (Source: UNICEF )
The figures indicate how much more effort is needed to provide a standard life for the children in India.
